great for me who only needs to lube a hundred switches, so getting the large jars of lube would be more than i'd ever need. No need to deal with brush storage and maintenance :)
I bought the Bauer Lite for the office, and with my switch and keycap configuration (Boba U4 and PBT keycaps), I'm really enjoying using it every day at work. Excellent keyboard for the price range.
This is perfect for a PC board to add that classy design and a little pop of color - the quality was A+ and of course shipping and handling was a breeze.
I am utterly floored by the MTNU profile and the light version of these key caps, so much that I bought a few sets. I'd love to have the dark version available too.
I know MTNU is relatively new and limited to GMK production, but I am now keeping an eye out for ICs (Interest Checks) for *any* MTNU keycaps. Omnitype has been great at handling my orders and I am sure I will be a repeat customer.
The only negative? Limited or no stock...
Between these keycaps and the Swagkeys Knight v4 stabilizers, my Keychron Q6 is like a whole new board. (Using Gazzew Boba U4 v2 silent tactile switches with it... soooo nice and quiet.)
This a pretty cool board for people that take their own boards wherever they go. Its nice and light since its made out of polycarbonate, very simple to assemble and sounds quite good out of the box. There was one bit of imperfection on the top plate, there's an extra bit of plastic that I need to clip that prevents the 7 and 8 keys from bottoming out, but its nothing that can be fixed with modelling pliers and maybe a bit of sanding. While the design is pretty simple - it'd be nice to see a version two of this board that employs a no-**** design - magnets to keep the top and bottom mounts together would be a step in the right direction for this board - it would also make servicing the board a bit simpler - and quicker, instead of the deep socket bolt on design. That's probably the only complaints I have.
Word of advice for builders: Please don't use medium or heavy tactiles on this board - they are INSANELY loud.
Fun addition that slightly lowers the over pitch once installed. Perfectly balanced as all things should be.
If you have a Bauer Lite don't hesitate further. This is a must have. The weight that it adds is perfect, it gives it a nice heft. It also makes the sound higher in pitch.
PSA: the weights lie flat on the back of the PCB, make sure the wire inside doesn't get sandwiched between the two or else your keeb will sound hollow.
I've been looking at this keeb for a while and finally decided to buy it, especially with the release of the design lab. It's very easy and fun to design your own personal version of the Bauer Lite. It's a good entry level keyboard, although it may be a bit difficult to assemble for someone who is new to custom keyboards. Overall, I would recommend this keyboard for someone who wants to get into custom keyboards and those who are on a budget.
I was looking for something a little lighter than Cherry Blacks, and these fit the bill. They have that Cherry “scratch” if you’re into it (I am!). I lubed the side rails with a bit of 205g0 which helped make them feel a bit smoother. Highly recommend these if you like Cherry linears and want something between reds and blacks.
